Curriculum

The Squires Lane Federation curriculum is carefully constructed to fulfil our vision that "all pupils will leave Manorside and Tudor with the knowledge and skills, character traits, and love of learning they need to flourish in the next step of their journey and throughout their lives."

The themes we explore each term or half term, underpinned by high quality texts, inspire children with a love of learning and help to develop their cultural capital. This is underpinned by a rigorous and aspirational curriculum of skills and knowledge in each of the national curriculum subjects.

It is important that our pupils have high quality learning across the curriculum and we employ specialist teachers in Music, PE, and Spanish.

Cultural capital is also developed through our comprehensive programme of clubs, trips, and performances.

We "love to learn" at SLF and this means that we are always looking at how we can develop our curriculum further. Current focus areas are:

  • driver questions for units of learning to inspire memorable learning experiences, oracy and depth of thought, and cross curricular connections
  • tangible outcomes to ensure learning is always meaningful and to encourage the value of Take Pride
  • increased diversity and representation in our curriculum, including through general reading materials and through topics such as African Kingdoms

As we operate a rolling programme of reviewing curriculum areas, if there are any gaps below we may be updating these documents. Please get in touch and we will provide you with the lastest version.
